This policy covers meltemgunyuzlu.com. It does not cover LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, or any other platform this site links to. Those run under their own terms.

Who is responsible

Meltem Günyüzlü, Istanbul, Türkiye, is the data controller for this site. For any question about your data, or to exercise any of the rights below, write to hello@meltemgunyuzlu.com.

What this site collects

Nothing is collected if you only read. Personal data reaches me in two ways.

1. Forms you fill in. The contact form collects your name, email address, organisation, phone number (optional), enquiry type, and your message. The course waitlist form collects your name, email address, and organisation (optional). You choose what to put in these fields. If you would rather not use a form, email me directly.

2. Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand which pages get read, and Ahrefs Web Analytics for the same purpose without cookies. Analytics tells me that a page was read, from roughly where, and via which channel. It does not tell me who you are.

My hosting provider, Cloudflare, also keeps standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) for security and abuse prevention. That is a normal part of serving a website.

Why I collect it

Form data: to read your message and reply to it. That is the entire purpose. Submitting a form is your request for a reply, and it is the basis on which I hold the data.

Analytics data: to see which writing is worth continuing and which pages are broken. My interest in understanding my own site is the basis, and the data is aggregate.

Server logs: security and abuse prevention.

I do not sell your data. I do not share it with advertisers. I do not use it to build a profile on you. I do not add you to a mailing list because you sent me a message: the newsletter lives on LinkedIn and you subscribe there yourself.

Who else processes it

Running a small site means using services. The ones that can see your data:

  • Cloudflare (hosting, CDN, server logs). Privacy policy.
  • Notion (where form submissions are stored so I can work through them). Privacy policy.
  • Resend (sends me the notification email when you submit a form). Privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics 4 (aggregate traffic measurement). Privacy policy.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics (cookieless traffic measurement). Privacy policy.

These providers are based outside Türkiye, mostly in the United States, so your data crosses borders when you use a form or load a page. They operate under their own published safeguards for international transfers, linked above.

Cookies

Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to tell a returning visit from a new one. Nothing on this site sets an advertising cookie. Ahrefs Web Analytics sets none at all. If you would rather not be counted, browser-level tracking protection or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on will handle it, and the site works normally either way.

How long it is kept

Form submissions are kept while the conversation is live and for as long as the enquiry might reasonably continue. I review them once a year and delete what no longer has a reason to exist. Ask me to delete yours sooner and I will. Analytics data follows Google's retention settings for the property. Cloudflare's log retention follows Cloudflare's policy.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (if you are in the EU or the UK) and under KVKK (Law No. 6698, if you are in Türkiye), you can ask me to: confirm whether I hold data about you; show you a copy; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how I use it; or hand it to you in a portable format.

Send any of those requests to hello@meltemgunyuzlu.com. I will answer within 30 days. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason to ask for deletion.

If you think I have handled your data badly and my answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In Türkiye that is the KVKK Authority (kvkk.gov.tr). In the UK it is the ICO (ico.org.uk). In the EU it is the authority in your member state.

Children

This site is aimed at working marketing professionals. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and I do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If the stack behind this site changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. There is no version history to consult: the page above is the current policy.
